The Workshop Series on Intellectual Property Management is a flexible program for participants seeking to make a career in IP, as well as for those wanting a critical insight into a particular area of IP such as Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents and Designs.

A modular course, it is designed to provide an overview of the different Intellectual Property Right forms. The workshops will cover both the theory and practice behind each of the IPRs, and use of case studies and assignments will be made to facilitate professional skills in the area.

The Academy shall offer the following workshops in this Certificate Level Programme: -

1. Workshop on Trademarks & GI - Fundamentals & Practice [May 13 - 17, 2006]

2. Workshop on Copyrights - Fundamentals & Practice [May 26 - 28, 2006]

3. Workshop on Patents & Trade Secrets -  Fundamentals & Practice - [June 1 - 5, 2006] 

4. Workshop on Trade Secrets & Industrial Design - Fundamentals & Practice - June 6,  
     2006

While it is recommended that applicants apply for all the modules being offered to obtain an all-round understanding of this complex field, AIPS appreciates that the different IP rights forms vary considerably, and have applications in industries with significantly different concerns. Since the interface is sometimes limited, AIPS shall be accepting registrations to only the workshop of choice. Applicants will, therefore, have the flexibility of participating in any or all of the workshops.

Eligibility for Award of Certificate

The Certificate in Intellectual Property Management (Workshop Series) is a Certificate Level course. However, this Certificate in Intellectual Property Management (CIPM) will be conferred only on participants who

•  Attend all 4 workshops
  
  

•  Obtain a minimum of 60% in the qualifying examination conducted at 
   the end of the course.

Participants who successfully complete only select workshops in the series will be eligible for a "Certificate of Participation" in that particular workshop.

Fees:

Consolidated fee for CERTIFICATE IN IP MANAGEMENT (all FOUR workshops)

Early bird fee of  Rs. 20,000/- per participant for registrations and cheques received by March 31, 2006 .

 For registrations and cheques recd. after April 1, 2006, Rs. 25,000/- per participant.

Individual Workshop fees for CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

Registration will be limited, and applications will be considered on 'first come' basis

Eligibility:
Undergraduates, Post Graduates, Students of Law/Business Studies/Pharmacy/Chartered & Cost Accountancy, Research students and Professionals

Venue: 
Classes will be conducted at the Academy premises in state-of-art, air conditioned classrooms, well supported by audio-visual aids and catering facilities. Internet Facilities will be available for the duration of the course.
